KELA Detects Leaked Credit Card Numbers Belonging To Financial Services Corporation

KELA’s automated attack surface monitoring identified a list of 30,000 credit card numbers in a fraud-dedicated Telegram group. Because every card range issued by the company had been set as a monitored asset, KELA’s text extraction quickly isolated the 1,960 numbers that belonged to the customer.
Of those, 1,522 cards were already cancelled and 188 were active and valid, with a cumulative balance of more than $750,000. The company promptly identified and cancelled the affected cards, closing the door on fraudulent purchases, identity theft and the reputational damage a card leak brings.
